For as far back as I can remember, we were wards of the States and Governments. Others were structuring our lives and were making decisions for us with little or no success. For too long, non-Indigenous people were blaming us for wasting "tax payers" money even though we had no say in our matters.

With the signing of the new Agreement with Argyle Diamond Mine, we are in control of our own destiny. We are empowered to make our own decisions, to be contributing back to society. We are strengthening our cultural history so that the next generation will be proud of their heritage.
