Youth and Community Wellbeing.

Gelganyem Trust has since 2006 been working in partnership with the University of Notre Dame Australia on a community based initiative in the Wyndham and Oombulgurri communities. The Youth and Community Wellbeing program, which began two years ago, brings students and staff from the University to live and learn alongside the people of the East Kimberley for two months each year. Skill transfer is also an important component.

While in the community the staff and students work together with community members and leaders on a wide range of projects. The program was designed, implemented and is funded by the Trust on behalf of the community.
