Gelganyem Trust.

Gelganyem Trust was established in April 2005 as a charitable trust. The formation of the Gelganyem Trust marked the end of three years of negotiations and heralded a new era of self determination for Traditional Owners from the Argyle Diamond Mine area.

Gelganyem Trust has eleven trustees, made up of nine Traditional Owner Trustees and two Independent Trustees. The nine Traditional Owner trustees have two representatives from each of the two primary estate groups and one representative from each of the five secondary estate groups. The independent trustees are selected for their high level management skills, with one being an expert in finance and the other an expert in community development (including health, education, employment and training) or indigenous arts and culture.
